In-panel checklist guides import from other browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Brave), privacy framing, OAuth sign-in, and “first AI turn”—with dismiss and progress prefs.
What this is
A checklist at the top of the assistant guides import from Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Brave—including passwords if you choose—plus privacy reassurance, Kahana sign-in, and your first AI turn.
Imported passwords stay in your on-device login vault; they are not uploaded to Kahana as part of import. The assistant does not receive your vault contents. Details: Import data from other browsers.
How to use it
- Expand or collapse the checklist with its header control.
- Work steps in order; each step deep-links to the right surface (migration, auth, etc.).
- Dismissing the checklist is remembered for the profile (
browser.oasis.onboarding.*prefs).
Notes and limits
Import requires the other browser installed or profile data available on disk; failures show inline errors.
